
Description:
In this job, Occupational Health and Safety Specialists look at where people work and the tools they are using to make sure they are safe and healthy.
Duties:
• Inspect work areas and equipment.
• Stop work if area is unsafe or if the company is not following rules.
• Make sure air and lighting is good, and noise is not too loud.
• Investigate accidents.
• Teach people about being safe in the workplace.
Where and When:
• They work normal hours.
• Most of the time is spent in companies and factories.
• Many work for the government, but some companies have Specialists that work for them.

• Air samplers
• Gas detectors
• Laboratory equipment
• Pumps
• Computers
• Goggles, masks, hardhats, safety suits, gloves
Education and Training:
• Bachelor's degree
