
Description:
Bus drivers drive buses and send people to different places. Some drive regular routes. They may collect tickets or help passengers with baggage.
Duties:
• Follow safety rules and drive safe.
• Drive over specified routes and follow strict time schedules.
• Park buses at loading areas.
• Check gas, oil, and water level of the buses.
• Help elderly or disabled people on and off bus.
• Handle traffic emergencies.
• Take care of ticket fares or cash receipts.
• Use heating, lighting, and ventilating to make the bus comfortable.
• Report delays or accidents.
• Keep the bus clean.
Where and When:
• They work on buses.
• They may work full time or part time.
• Most work for local governments and schools.

• Buses

• First-aid kits
• Security cameras
• Two way radios
• Wheelchair lifts
Education and Training:
• High school diploma
• A special driver's license may be needed.
• Sometimes need vocational training.
• A few months to on year of working with experienced drivers.

• Usually 24 years of age or older is preferred.
• Criminal record and other background information will be checked.
